Incoming and outgoing students are likely to be impacted by scholarships
Navigating the cost of higher education can be daunting, but Ripon College is taking steps to ensure students can access continuous financial support. With new and continuing scholarship opportunities, the college is expanding its efforts to make higher education more affordable.
The Financial Aid Office, located in Smith Hall, plays a vital role in guiding students through the scholarship and financial aid process. Whether students need help navigating applications for scholarships or understanding loan options, the office provides an essential resource to make education more affordable.
Each year, the Ripon College Board of Trustees sets tuition, housing, and other fees, which play a key role in shaping the merit-based scholarships for incoming students.
For current students, the Continuing Student Scholarship Competition offers an important opportunity to secure additional funding.

This month-long application process allows students to compete for over 100 scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $13,000 based on factors such as GPA, major, campus involvement, and financial need. Last year, more than $250,000 was awarded through this program, thanks to contributions from alumni, donors, and local businesses.
Student Chloe Daly, majoring in psychobiology and history, has previously applied for scholarships and has received several through the Continuing Student Scholarship Competition. This year she has applied again with the hopes of receiving more financial aid.
“I’m thankful that Ripon College gives me the opportunity to apply for more scholarships. I think every student should take advantage of this resource,” she said.
Beyond institutional scholarships, students can also access other outside scholarship opportunities which are regularly updated with external ideas. Additionally, the college is making an effort to send out monthly scholarship newsletters featuring financial literacy resources, new opportunities, and prize incentives for student participation.
